Franco-Nigerian conference set for Lagos
The French Embassy in Nigeria is organising an event for professionals from the French and Nigerian screen industries to be held in Lagos in July.
French-Nigerian Cinema Days is a result of France president Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Nigeria in July 2018 and is dedicated to promoting and developing collaboration between the industries of both countries.
The conference also aims to highlight to French companies possible avenues to develop the Nigerian market, with major French firms including media giant Vivendi and producer Studio Orange set to attend.
In addition, it will feature a French-Nigerian coproduction workshop and presentations of 10 selected Nigerian movie projects to French producers.
Speakers at French-Nigerian Cinema Days include Nollywood actor and producer Genevieve Nnaji, movie director Kunle Afolayan, NITV founder Ijeoma Onah and Africa International Film Festival founder Chioma Ude, as well as the French ambassador to Nigeria, Jérôme Pasquier.
