Mo Abudu, CEO of Nigerian content studio EbonyLife Group, has confirmed the start of production on her Netflix documentary series titled Black, Brilliant & Bold.

According to the UK-born, Lagos-based media exec, the series is designed to celebrate and showcase the remarkable achievements of black women from all corners of the world.

Abudu said: “This project, which has been two years in the making, celebrates the incredible achievements of black women.

“In various fields, from science and technology to arts and activism, politics and beyond, black women have made significant contributions that often go unnoticed. It’s high time we change that narrative. Our mission is to highlight and celebrate these accomplishments, inspiring future generations and promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.”

The first episode of the series starts with an interview with the director general of the World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, in Geneva. “She epitomises what it means to be a black, brilliant and bold woman and her story is just out of this world,” Abudu added.

“It’s been a while since my Moments With Mo days, and it’s a great feeling to be back… This project is incredibly important, and I’m thrilled to have created it.”
