Digital Lab Africa names animation finalists

Digital Lab Africa (DLA), a mentorship and incubation initiative dedicated to boosting innovative creative and digital content in Africa, has revealed the finalists for its acceleration programme in music, XR, animation, visual arts and video games.

Finalists in the animation category include South African animator Connor Rhoda; Manual Omayer; Africuz.png; Somto Ajuluchukwu, founder of Vortex Corp; Yetunde Ogundipe; Mwara Kung’u; Magic Carpet Studios; Align Animation Studios; Njogu Macharia; Folktail Studio; and Ross Jantjies.

“Stories around the fire, remember those? Imagination running wild with every word. Get ready for that magic again. Digital Lab Africa’s animation finalists are here, building and creating beautiful worlds that light up our imagination,” stated DLA.

Finalists in the XR category include Natasha Khanyola, Nashe Wadaya and Brian Njenga, while the video game finalists include Walter Kibet, Calvin Nathan and Andrew Cara.
