Romantic comedy movie Dead Serious will hit cinemas for Valentine’s Day season

Romantic comedy movie Dead Serious will hit cinemas from February 9 in celebration of the Valentine’s Day season.

Dead Serious is directed by Moses Inyang, produced by David Rukeme and features a cast including Sharon Ooja, Osuofia Nkem Owoh, Mr Funny, Deyemi Okanlawon and Emem Inwang.

The movie tell the story of a young man making several unsuccessful attempts to take his own life after losing the love of his life just a few days into their wedding. However, Inyang was keen to emphasis the upbeat nature of the flick.

“No, it’s not a sad film; as a matter of fact, it’s one packed with a lot of laughs and an important message of hope and perseverance,” he said on social media.

“Over the past few years, suicide and suicide attempt rates have increased alarmingly as more and more people succumb to depression and other negative ails. So, I thought it was time to whip out a script I conceived and crafted seven years ago that advocates against suicide and depression.

“We are dead serious about bringing you the most hilariously awkward romantic couple this Valentine. Prepare to laugh till your sides hurt and shed a few tears as well. Brace yourself for a mind-blowing movie.”
