Channels TV reporter kidnapped

Channels TV reporter Friday Okeregbe has been kidnapped, with his abductors demanding a ransom of N50million (US$138,600).

Okeregbe was taken on his way back from a mechanic’s workshop in Games village, Abuja. His whereabouts is unknown and his family have so far been unable to gather the ransom for his release.

Neither the police nor Okeregbe’s family had issued a statement on the kidnapping prior to the publication of this story. Channels TV is a 24-hour Nigerian independent news and media television channel.
