Busisiwe Ntintili boards thriller Shadowland
Johannesburg-based showrunner Busisiwe Ntintili has been tapped as showrunner of South Africa-set wildlife crime thriller Shadowland.
The project, which comes from Athena Pictures, Starlings Television, Advantage Entertainment and Ntintili’s production banner Ntintili Factory, follows a fierce and reclusive female wildlife activist who teams up with a special operations veteran to uncover a plot to ambush a rhino translocation caravan.
Ntintili’s credits include Netflix African original Jiva!, Showmax’s The Wife and South African Broadcasting Corporation’s Intersexions. She is represented by Alta Global Media.
She joins a creative team that includes director Darnell Martin, producer Vlokkie Gordon, co-executive producer Rohan Dickson, executive producer Peter Elkoff and creator, writer and exec producer Jacqui Barcos.
Other exec producers on the project include Karine Martin and Chris Philip for Starlings Entertainment and Andra Gordon and Sarena Khan for Athena Pictures, in addition to Ben Silverman, Jomon Thomas and Natalya Pavchinskya.
