Blood & Water S4 gets release date

Global streamer Netflix has announced the release date for the fourth season of South African teen crime drama series Blood & Water.

Netflix said of the new episodes, which drop on March 1: “Blood gets thinner. Water gets murkier. Some secrets are better left untold.”

Set in Cape Town, the series follows a girl who transfers to an elite school when she suspects one of the students may be her sister who was abducted as a baby. As she delves into the mystery of her missing sibling, she unravels long-held secrets concealed by her friends and family over the years.

The cast includes Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema, Gail Mabalane, Leroy Siyafa, Thabang Molaba, Dillon Windvogel, Greteli Fincham and Mekaila Mathys. The show was developed by Gambit Films and directed by Nosipho Dumisa.

The six-part first season was released on Netflix in May, 2020. In June of that year, Netflix renewed the series for S2, which was released in September 2021. A third run, announced in April 2022, premiered that November.

The series won Best TV Drama at the 2021 South African Film & Television Awards as well as awards for cinematography and sound design.
