Blood & Water S4 begins shooting

Production has started on the fourth season of South African teen crime drama series Blood & Water.

Global streamer Netflix made the announcement on its Instagram page: “Pssst, come a little closer. I’ve got news. Season 4 of Blood & Water is officially in production. New term, new students, new drama!”

Set in Cape Town, season one debuted in 2020 and follows a girl who transfers to an elite school called Parkhurst College when she suspects one of the students may be her sister, who was abducted as a baby.

In season two, launched in 2021, a Cape Town teen sets out to prove a private-school swimming star is her sister. The third run, in 2022, saw a dark new force enter the lives of the Parkhurst students.

Cast members who will be returning include Patrick Mofokeng, Gail Mabalane, Odwa Gwanya, Greteli Fincham and Sandi Schultz, while newcomers include Natasha Thahane, Katishcka Kiara, Arno Greeff, Tumisho Masha and Thabang Molaba.

The release date for Blood & Water S4 is yet to be announced. The production company behind the SAFTA-winning show is Gambit Films.
