BBNaija to return for eighth season
Nigerian TV show Big Brother Naija, based on the globe-trotting Dutch reality format created by John de Mol, is coming back for its eighth season.
The new run will be known as The All Stars edition and will bring back selected housemates and fan favourites from previous editions of the show, which airs on MultiChoice-owned pay channel Africa Magic.
The show debuted on M-Net in 2006 and was revived by Africa Magic in 2017. It has aired on that channel ever since and now also streams on MultiChoice-owned platform Showmax in sub-Saharan Africa and the UK.
According to the producers, the new season promises to have a line-up of exciting and engaging tasks, unpredictable twists and turns, including fan-favourite Ninjas and a live studio audience.
Busola Tejumola, executive head of content and West Africa channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, said: “We are excited to bring you a refreshed season of Big Brother Naija. The show is staying true to its reputation of having the biggest cash prize for any reality competition on the continent.
“As Big Brother Naija returns for another season, fans across sub-Saharan Africa and the United Kingdom will enjoy front-row, live-streamed access to all the activities in the Big Brother house on Africa’s top streaming service, Showmax.”
Big Brother Naija S8 is sponsored by MoniePoint and will air for 10 weeks from July 23 on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban, Africa Magic Family channels and 24-hour dedicated Big Brother channels on pay platforms DStv and GOtv.
