Ayolola cast in biblical drama

Nigerian actor Ayoola Ayolola (Lekki Wives, The Bling Lagosians) is joining the cast for the fourth season of biblical US television drama The Chosen.

Primarily set in Judaea and Galilee in the first century, the series centres on Jesus Christ and the people who met and interacted with him.

The Chosen was created, directed and co-written by filmmaker Dallas Jenkins, mainly via crowdfunding, and stars Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, as well as Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James and George H Xanthis.

“Grateful to have been part of this episode of The Chosen TV series. Season four is about to be all sorts of amazing!” said Ayoola.

The release date for S4 has yet to be announced.

Since its debut in 2017, the series has been screened on Christian SVoD platform VidAngel and Angel Studios’ YouTube channel, and later on BYUtv, Trinity Broadcasting, UPtv, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock and Netflix.

It has also been licensed to Canal+ in France, distributed via the Come & See Foundation. The show is produced by Loaves & Fishes Productions, Angel Studios and Out of Order Studios.
