Amazon Prime reveals LOL SA stars

The all-star line-up for Prime Video’s first South African original, LOL: Last One Laughing has been revealed.

The 10 South African comedy stars include Nomzamo Mbatha, Celeste Ntuli, Glen Biderman-Pam, Jason Goliath, Thando Thabethe, Lasizwe Dambuza, Tumi Morake, Moonchild Sanelly, Robby Collins and Mojak Lehoko.

They will compete against one another to see who can keep a straight face while simultaneously trying to make their opponents laugh and lose. The winning comedian will win a R1 million prize donation for the South African charity of choice.

The six-part series is produced by BBC Studios-backed production company Rapid Blue and Noah’s LA-based Day Zero Productions. It will be hosted by South African comedian and Grammy award nominee, Trevor Noah.

The LOL: Last One Laughing series is an adaptation of Prime Video’s global smash-hit comedy franchise currently produced in more than 20 countries and territories worldwide, including Emmy-nominated versions in Germany and Australia. It is set to launch in South Africa and globally in early 2024.
