Akinmolayan documentary debuts on Prime

A new documentary named Rainmakers from Niyi Akinmolayan, CEO and founder of Nigeria’s Anthill Studios, will debut on Amazon Prime Video on March 1.

The movie producer shared the news on Instagram, saying: “Juju vs Science, who is winning? We travelled across three states, met with 20 rainmakers and compared the results of our weather app predictions with the powers of tradition: Sango, Agemo and Osun.”

In Nigerian folklore, Sango is the god of storms, Agemo is a Yoruba chameleon god, and Osun is a river deity.

The documentary answers the question with an epic journey across Nigeria. It shadowed the movie producer as he travelled to the Nigerian states of Ogun, Oyo and Edo states testing the rainmaker myth against scientific methods.

Rainmakers is narrated by Ade Obatoyinbo and produced and directed by Akinmolayan.
