Aki & Pawpaw, Soòlé set for cinemas
Nollywood movies Soòlé and Aki & Pawpaw will debut in cinemas in November and December respectively.
Soòlé will premiere on November 26, while Aki & Pawpaw will debut on December 17.
Soòlé is a film about a group of people from many walks of life who meet on a bus on their way home for Christmas, only to become embroiled in a cat-and-mouse game with violent crooks.
It is distributed by Nigerian movie studio Filmone Entertainment, directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by Adunni Ade. The cast includes Sola Sobowale, Femi Jacobs, Meg Otanwa, Adunni Ade, Adedimeji Lateef, Shawn Faqua, Bukunmi Oluwasina, Eso Dike and Teniola Aladese.
Aki & Pawpaw, meanwhile, is a remake of the 2002 classic comedy film Aki Na Ukwa, which featured Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme. The duo will rehash their roles as the titular brothers.
The film is directed by Biodun Stepen and produced by Play Network Studios and Filmone Entertainment. Also among the cast are Toyin Abraham, Amaechi Muonagor, Anita Asuoha, Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim, Hanks Anuku and Chioma Okafor.
Filmone revealed Aki & Pawpaw’s premiere date via Instagram, writing: “We have one month to go till the biggest action thriller of 2021 starts showing in cinemas nationwide. We can’t wait for you to meet the Men of Soólè the movie from November 26!
