African animators head to MipJunior

A group of African animators will be participating in the 31st edition of the MipJunior conference taking place in Cannes, France this weekend.
The MipJunior kids screenings and coproduction market is scheduled to take place from October 13 to 15 and will bring together producers and distributors from various countries.

Among the African animators heading to market are Gbenga Ajetomobi, head of Lagos-based toon studio Highbreed Animations, who revealed he will be showcasing his projects Omoberry and Yekini.
“I am super-hyped to announce that I will be participating in MipJunior 2023, the world’s greatest gathering of TV and entertainment industry players. Looking forward to meeting new potential partners in the industry,” he said.
Lagos-based studio Basement Animation will also be in Cannes to discuss its project Joko & Dide, its animated projects and 2D animation services.
In addition, Lagos-based Smids Animation Studios announced it will be at the event. “We can’t wait to connect and explore exciting collaborations,” said the company.
The coproduction market will enable participants to expand their network, gain lead generation opportunities, discover new projects, buy and sell programmes across the globe, and gain new insights into the TV industry.
