A Weekend to Forget hits cinemas

Psychological thriller movie A Weekend to Forget will make its debut in Nigeria this month, exploring human psychology and the downsides of chasing one’s darkest desires.

The film is directed by Damola Ademola, co-founder of Lagos-based Inkblot Productions, in collaboration with distributor FilmOne Studios. The cast includes former housemates of reality show Big Brother Naija, including Erica Nlewedim, Neo Akpofure and Elozonam.

Other cast members include Daniel Etim-Effiong, Ini Dima-Okojie, Stan Nze and Uche Montana. A Weekend to Forget will premiere on September 19, with a nationwide cinema release on September 22.

Inkblot is the production company behind the lucrative movie franchise The Wedding Party and Moms at War 2 and also signed a three-year deal with Amazon Studios in 2021.

The company is also behind Netflix’s first young-adult commission from Nigeria, Far From Home, which Ademola exec-produced.
